Museum history starts with The Caucasian Sericulture Station – a research institute and educational center of the Caucasus region established in 1887. Situated in the main building, the museum and library, with their various collections and books, played an important role in the educational activities of the station and contributed to the increase of public awareness in this field. Currently, the library preserves an extensive collection of natural history and scientific literature related to sericulture, encompassing works in more than 12 languages, alongside periodicals and critical reference materials.

Nino Kvrivishvili – Accomplished mid-career textile artist who has received residencies/exhibitions in Lithuania, Austria, Switzerland and Germany; educator at the Tbilisi Art Academy and the Free University of Tbilisi.
Tamari Nadashvili – Tamari completed her bachelor’s degree at Ilia State University in two fields: Fashion, Textile, and Footwear Design as my main specialty, and English as a minor. Currently, she is studying for master’s degree in Textile Design at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts.
