Texts as Cultural Treasure

 I SAW IT…

Mariam Zaldastanishvili

Texts as Cultural Treasure is an initiative aiming to promote the book collection of the State Silk Museum and to increase accessibility to it.

The project I SAW IT  was created based on The American Silk Journal and different collections preserved in The State Silk Museum.

The concept base of the project was the footer slogan from the advertisement pages of the Journal – I saw it in The American Silk Journal. The slogan together with its paraphrase – I saw it in The Georgian Silk Museum – served as appealing material for a visual campaign.

Within the campaign intersections happen between facts extracted from different editions of the Journal and the Museum items. The process of discovering intercultural convergences strengthens the interactive as well as educational potential of the campaign.
